Construction worker falls from scaffolding, dies

A 20-year-old construction worker died after falling from a scaffolding in Bayambang town.

Victim Joseph Benitez, a resident of Barangay Gayaman in Binmaley town was working in a construction inside a state university in town and was about to climb down the 20-meter-high scaffolding when he slipped and fell to the concrete floor.

He was rushed to the hospital but later died.

Online seller drowns in Binmaley Beach

A 22-year-old online seller drowned while swimming in Binmaley on Sunday, March 5 and is still missing as of March 10.

Police received a call from the local Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office on a drowning incident in town, where a certain victim was identified as Angelo Borda, a resident of Barangay Ahoy in Iloilo City.

Victim was swimming on the Binmaley Beach with friends but was swept away by strong current, and was dragged to the deeper part of the beach.

His companions tried to save him, but were unable to do so because of the large and roaring waves.

P 3.4-M cash, jewelry carted away by kasambahay

This, after a 37-year-old businessman reported to the police a theft case inside his house in Manaoag, after two of his maids carted away his cash and jewelry collection.

Victim Mark Louie Valdez of Barangay Inamotan was surprised to see his room ransacked, and his stash of jewelry worth P3 million and P400,000 cash gone.

He said the housemaids Jenalyn de Jesus and EJ Noel B Dagumay, who were both employed through an agency, both residents of Purok 6, Lower Magsaysay, San Pedro, Laguna, were missing when he called for them.

Prior to the discovery of the incident, neighbors saw the suspects leaving the house with their luggage. Police are currently on the hunt for the suspects.
