PDEA, PNP arrest two drug high value targets
A SUSPECTED drug carrier from Metro Manila, believed to be supplying illegal drugs to drug personalities in Pangasinan and Dagupan City, was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 1, and Pangasinan and Dagupan City PNP on February 16, 1:04 a.m. in Barangay Tapuac in Dagupan City.
The suspect, who is a high value target on illegal drugs was identified as one Vincent Don y Barlaan, a native of Metro Manila, whose activities had long been under surveillance, was arrested when he sold two pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing 50 grams of shabu to a PDEA undercover agent in front of the YMCA in Barangay Tapuac and received one P1,000 bill and 149 pieces of P1,000 ‘boodle’ money.
Cases for violation of Section 5 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Anti-Drug Act of 1992 are now being prepared against the suspect.
In San Carlos City, a top 5 high value target for drugs in the region was arrested on February 5 in Barangay Mamaradlo, by operatives of PDEA Region 1, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, San Carlos City and Bayambang Police in a buy-bust operation.
The suspect Jonjon Marcellano, was wanted under PDEA’s Oplan Anito. Seized from him were two pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 10 grams of shabu, P1,000 bill and 39 pieces of P1,000 boodle paid by the PDEA undercover agent.
He is now facing a case for violation of RA 9165. (Butch Uka)
