Two women nabbed in drug-buy bust

100 GRAMS OF SHABU SEIZED

TWO women fell in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on April 16 in San Carlos City from whom lawmen seized more or less 100 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P680,000.

Suspects arrested in the entrapment operation were identified as Lilyn Billote, alias “Arlene”, 48, of Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City; and Lucia Salazar, 48, widow, also of Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

Richie Camacho, PDEA provincial director in Pangasinan, said suspected shabu granules were found in one plastic bag seized by PDEA operatives during the buy-bust operation.

Among the other items seized were one genuine P1,000 bill 399 pieces of boodle money used as buy-bust money, one brown paper envelope, and one brown paper bag, one a sim card.

Both suspects were charged with violation of Sections  5 in relation to Section 26 paragraph b, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Anti-Drug Law.

Camacho said the arrest of the two women was linked to the operation conducted by PDEA in Calasiao town two weeks ago that led to the arrest of a drug dealer from Dagupan City from whom a separate P600,000 worth of shabu was seized. (Butch Uka)
