Schedule of funeral masses in Manaoag set earlier
DUE TO HIGH HEAT INDEX
EFFECTIVE May 14, 2024, the usual 1 p.m. schedule for funeral masses in Manaoag town was changed to 8:15 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday due to the high recorded heat index.
Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario told an iFM Dagupan interview that this was prompted by appeals from his constituents to have early funeral masses.
He said the appeal was forwarded to the management of the Minor Basilica of Manaoag and was approved.
“Kawawa ang mga nakikipaglibing sa yumaong mahal nila sa buhay, lalo na ang mga matatatanda dahil sa sobrang init, lalo sa tanghali,” the mayor said.
Rosario recalled the days when the heat index reached to as high 50 to 51 degrees Celsius.
“We are thankful the request of our townmates was granted,” he said.
He added that regular Masses starting from 5:00 a.m. with only 30 minutes interval continue. (Eva Visperas)
