RABIES cases in Pangasinan recorded three victims that died.

This was verified by the Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Region I April 4.

Dr. Rheuel Bobis, DOH-CHD medical officer, said these were cases logged from January 1 to March 16 this year. All patients, said Bobis, did not survive.

Region I also dominated the country with leading rabies cases, as a 100-percent increase was recorded, with six victims.

Aside from Pangasinan, two others were recorded in La Union province, and one was logged in Ilocos Norte.

Bobis said the victims who died were rushed to the hospital but too late.

He then urged the public to immediately go to an Animal Bite Center once bitten by an animal not injected with anti-rabies vaccines.

Free rabies vaccinations are being provided in LGU veterinary offices, and the Animal Bite Center. (Ahikam Pasion)
