House okays bill expanding R1MC to 1,500 beds
HOUSE Bill No. 10081 seeking to increase the bed capacity of the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City from 600 beds to 1,500 beds authored by Fourth District Rep. Christopher de Venecia was passed in the House of Representatives.
The bill was passed with the support of Fourth District Rep. Arthur Celeste and Fifth District Rep. Ramon Guico Jr.
Meanwhile, Rep. De Venecia had explained the need to pass the bill in the senate to Senator Bong Go, chairman on the Senate committee on health, when the later came to Manaoag on April 18 for the distribution of financial assistance to TUPAD beneficiaries.
In 2012, then Fourth District Rep. Gina de Venecia, mother of Christopher, authored House Bill No. 10614 that expanded R1MC from 300 to 600 bed capacity. (Leonardo Micua)
