DOH 1 on the alert for rise in diarrhea cases

THE Department of Health–Center for Health Development 1 (DOH-CHD 1) started closely monitoring rising levels of diarrhea cases in the region.

Up until February 2024, the region registered more than 3,000 cases, out of which Pangasinan reported 1,478; followed by La Union with 1,023; Ilocos Norte with 415; and Ilocos Sur with 300.

Dagupan City, has 115 diarrhea cases recorded.

Diarrhea cases are 2.4% lower this year compared to last year in the same period, but a possible increase may occur as the temperature gets higher.

Authorities remind the public to ensure that water sources are clean, and to cook and store food properly. (Ahikam Pasion)
