Caramat wins unopposed as Liga prexy of Calasiao

LIKE his late mother’s political journey, newly elected Nalsian Barangay Captain Patrick Caramat, ran unopposed as president of the Liga ng mga Barangay of Calasiao during the election held Friday, December 15, at Don Armando’s Restaurant in the town.

Caramat, 25, son of P/MGen. Romeo Caramat Jr, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the late Mayor Mamilyn Caramat, garnered a solid 24-vote from all the barangay captains of Calasiao.

The young Caramat’s mother also run unopposed from the position of barangay captain in Nalsian and as Liga president.

Caramat thanked his fellow barangay captains for his latest feat which he said is a meaningful Christmas gift to him. “I will be your true voice in the Sangguniang Bayan and be responsive to barangay affairs,” he said.

Despite his young age, Caramat said he will work hand in hand with his colleagues and vowed to adopt “a leadership with a heart to serve especially those who need it most, give prompt and necessary actions, collaborate with various leaders and sectors to come up with an inclusive service for all”.

Also elected were: Vice President–Jose Paris (Barangay Nagsaing), Auditor- Baltazar Vinoya (Lumbang); Armando Bauzon (Ambonao), Dante Fernandez (Lasip), John Perez (Cabilocaan), Angelo Conte (Malabago), Jasper Rosario (San Miguel) and Rodito Joves (San Vicente) were elected as board directors.

All the elected new officers won unopposed except Paris who was pitted against Allan Roy Macanlalay of Barangay Bued, brother of Mayor Kevin Macanlalay.

Conte was reelected as secretary while treasurer was Rosario. (Eva Visperas)
