THE Pangasinan provincial government and the Region 1 Medical Center signed a memorandum of agreement for the deployment of the latter’s medical specialists to all the 14 hospitals run by the province to enable Pangasinenses to have access to the best health experts available.

The MOA was signed jointly on September 14 by Governor Ramon Guico III and Dr. Roland Mejia, chief of R1MC, to provide proper medical attention and treatment to Pangasinenses and as part of the Service Delivery Networking to the province of the Department of Health  (DOH).

“We have enough medical specialists and there are still many positions yet to be filled up in the next few weeks,” Mejia said in justifying the MOA he signed with Gov. Guico.

In a speech before the Sangguniang Panlalawigan two weeks after his assumption of office, Guico spelled convergence as part of his program for Pangasinan and pointed out that since the provincial government lacks personnel, it needs to link up with other government agencies that may be willing to lend their available manpower.

Guico also announced that the provincial government and R1MC will help each other in the supporting a Mental Health Facility at the  Bahay Pag-asa in Burgos town.

Both R1MC and the Pangasinan provincial government will also complement each other in establishing the Bahay Silangan to rehabilitate addicts and help them return to normal life, the governor said. (Leonardo Micua)
