THE Mangaldan local government under Mayor Bona Fe Parayno is keen on being named as one of five LGUs in the country that will receive a billion-peso flood control project from the national government.

In her message to the departments, Parayno said preparations are being made for the submission of the required documents to qualify.

Parayno said the town needs the grant in order to build a path along the slope protection, and the establishment of pumping station projects to eradicate flooding in the town.

Meanwhile, Parayno announced that the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office 1 delivered Open Pollinated Variety (OPV) White Corn Seeds good for 12 hectares, and 1,450 packs of Nitrogen Fixing Biological Fertilizer through the LGU’s Corn Banner Program.  (Ahikam Pasion)
