Man injured after being sideswiped by motorcycle

A 22-year-old man is under observation after a drunk motorcycle rider ran over him along the bypass road in Barangay Nancayasan, Urdaneta City Monday night, July 18.

Victim Mark Bongolan, a resident of Barangay San Jose, Urdaneta City was crossing the road after buying snacks, when Vincent Espinoza, 26, a criminology student and resident of Poblacion in Villasis town, ran over the victim.

Espinoza was drunk as a skunk when the incident took place.

Bongolan sustained severe injuries on his head, and his right foot was fractured, while Espinoza, who does not have a license, was only slightly injured.

Meanwhile, on the same night, two scooter-riding minors in Barangay Anonas were injured in Urdaneta City when they collided with a garong tricycle.

Lebron Bryant Socobos, a 12-years old resident in the barangay, was driving a scooter along with his backrider Guiom Padilla, 7 years old, when they collided with a garong driven by Rogelio Mende, 57, and his wife Rizalina, 56, both residents of Barangay San Bonifacio in San Manuel town.

Police investigation reveals both vehicles entered the crossing at the same time, resulting in their collision.

They were all rushed to the hospital and are currently under recovery. (Ahikam Pasion)
