80% of target pop in region fully vaxxed vs COVID-19
MORE than seven million doses of vaccines have been administered in Region 1, according to the Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Region 1.
Dr. Rheuel Bobis, CHD spokesperson, said the 7,858,600 COVID-19 vaccines were distributed among 3,195,312 individuals for their second doses while 431,291 were administered to with booster shots.
This, said Bobis, equates to 80% coverage of the region’s total target population.
Meanwhile, the DOH released a department order, ordering the availability of second booster shots to healthcare workers, senior citizens, and immunocompromised individuals and only after four months since their first booster shots.
He added only Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be used for the second booster doses. (Ahikam Pasion)
