A FORMER board president of the Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco) filed his certificate of candidacy for a seat in the Second District of the Provincial Board.

Manuel ‘Bobby’ Merrera, said he needs to win this race so he could fight for the people’s rights against Cenpelco itself where he once served.

Merrera claims the current Cenpelco board of directors has done nothing to alleviate the people’s suffering, and he believes he can influence the board if he is elected as public servant.

When asked on his plans for the COVID-19 response, Merrera admitted that he does not believe that COVID-19 exists, and that mandatory wearing of face masks should be lifted.

He hails from the Merrera clan of Binmaley, who once held considerable power in town and in the district. (Ahikam Pasion)
