INCUMBENT Calasiao Mayor Joseph Arman Bauzon filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on October 5 for his reelection for third and last term in the 2022 National and Local Elections.

Bauzon filed his COC alongside with his running-mate three-term Councilor John Acosta and the eight candidates for councilor in their slate.

In an ambush interview, Bauzon said he would continue the programs he started in his two terms as municipal mayor, as well as continue to focus on the town’s economic recovery.

Battle-tested na tayo. Alam na natin ang gagawin at dapat gawin,” he said.

Bauzon’s reelection bid will be challenged by Liga Ng Mga Barangay Municipal Federation President Mamilyn Caramat, wife of P/BGen. Romeo Caramat, CARAGA police regional director.

Caramat has teamed with incumbent councilor Mark Roy Macanlalay and her team was among the first to file their COCs on October 1, the first day of filing.

Sa bawat minutong inilaan ko sa pagsisilbi, batid kong maraming dapat gawin, maraming dapat tugunan, maraming dapat asikasuhin, maraming dapat ayusin para sa mapayapa, maayos, progresibo at may direksyong pamamahala sa ating mahal na bayan,” Caramat said in a Facebook post. (Ahikam Pasion)
