2 stranded quarriers in Tayug rescued
TWO quarriers were rescued by authorities after being stranded inside their truck in a quarry site in Barangay Gozon in Tayug October 12.
Pangasinan Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Operations Officer Vincent Chui said they received a call from the Municipal DRRMO around 2 a.m. asking for assistance to conduct rescue operations.
Chui said the quarriers could not escape due to the sudden surge of water level around the Agno River.
Meanwhile, the rescue team was also able to evacuate eight residents affected by the flood and were brought to the evacuation center, he added.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office immediately provided basic needs for the evacuees. (Jerick Pasiliao)
