PSWDO, PDRRMO, prov’l library get new facilities

THE provincial government inaugurated three newly-constructed buildings at the Capitol grounds on September 15.

Gov. Amado Espino III led the inauguration of the three newly-constructed buildings: Two-storey Multi-Purpose Building for Basic Sector, Provincial Youth Development Center, at Children’s Library and Information Center.

With the governor at the ribbon cutting and unveiling of markers of the three buildings were: Team Energy Sual External Affairs Executive Carlo Calvario, Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay President Jinky Zaplan Provincial Federation President of Sangguniang Kabataan Jerome Vic Espino and department heads of the provincial government.

During the program, Gov. Espino expressed thanked to the Department of Energy, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and Team Energy Sual for supporting the construction of the three buildings..

The two-storey multi-purpose building for basic sectors, which has a project area of 767.30 sq.m, will be administered by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) to provide one-stop shop for assistive services for less-privileged Pangasinenses. It will also house the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) and Senior Citizens Affairs Office.

The Provincial Youth Development Center which is under the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) will be a venue for trainings for youth-related organizations, out-of-school youth (OSY), and kids to expose them to disaster risk preparedness programs.

“Gov. Pogi’s objective is to increase the youth’s awareness and become responsible, productive citizens later of the community especially in Pangasinan,” Col. Oro stressed.

In the meantime, due to the pandemic, the PDRRMO holds Ligtas at Aktibong Pamayanan (LAP) online for the youth that aims to shed light on the adverse effects of climate change.

The Children’s Library and Information Center located beside the Provincial Library Office provide children a conducive place for more educational and recreational activities for children. (PIO/SMDG)
