THE surge in COVID-19 cases did not spare 120 healthcare workers in the 14 provincial government-run hospitals that are presently among the active cases of COVID-19 in Pangasinan, as of September 13.

Provincial Health Office chief Dr. Anna de Guzman said 40 of the cases are admitted in different hospitals because they have comorbidities and are experiencing moderate symptoms while  80 are under strict home isolation being asymptomatic with mild symptoms.

Fortunately, De Guzman said the province-run hospitals have not suffered any casualty .

Meanwhile, PHO is closely monitoring health status of all their healthcare workers to ensure that they are in good health while performing their duties amid the pandemic.

Meanwhile, de Guzman said the provincial government is still hiring more medical healthcare workers such as nurses and medical technologists to complement the medical staff facing more challenges from the pandemic. (Jerick Pasiliao)
