PPPO tightens border control checkpoints

IN the light of increasing number of COVID-19 cases in detection of more Delta variants in the province, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) has tightened its control and monitoring in the province’s border control checkpoints.

PPPO director Col. Ronald Gayo said the residents and visitors should expect stricter implementation of quarantine protocols, amid the increasing cases of COVID-19.

Gayo issued the reminder that there are existing restrictions of movements of non-authorized persons outside of residence to prevent further transmission of the virus.

Meanwhile, the PPPO chief said some 136 police officers are among the active COVID-19 cases in the province and are currently in LGU isolation facilities and in PPPO’s, he said, adding that one of their personnel already died due to COVID-19 complications.

Gayo said PPPO remains focused on different programs against criminality while monitoring the situation on the pandemic. (Jerick Pasiliao)
