San Carlos City eyes more modular isolation facilities

THE San Carlos City government is set to procure 12 more modular smart houses in addition to the six modular houses earlier bought by the city, as supplementary isolation facilities in anticipation of a possible surge of COVID-19 cases in the city.

This was confirmed by City Information Officer Jhuliano Nazareno last Monday, August 30, who said the modular smart houses will be served to asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 cases.

Nazareno said the modular houses are well-built, movable, and durable and can withstand winds and heavy rains or typhoons.

Meanwhile, as of August 29, he said the city registered 188 active COVID-19 cases many of whom were working individuals or the authorized persons outside of residence (APOR) and they infect members of the family eventually.

Nazareno said the city government is implementing granular lockdowns in the areas with high infection rate.

He clarified that while San Carlos City was not among the LGUs that PHO recommended for lockdown, the city government has been on high alert in a bid to contain the transmission of the virus.

Nazareno added that the city government is prepared with its contingency plans in the event the city or the province put under stricter quarantine classification. (Jerick Pasiliao)
