PHO: Multiple factors caused COVID-19 surge in Pangasinan

By September 20, 2021Inside News

THE Provincial Health Office (PHO) said the surge of COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan are being attributed to multiple factors.

In an interview over Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan last week, PHO chief Dr. Anna de Guzman attributed population size, limited testing capacity and the limited response of the local government units (LGUs), including the entry of the Delta variant.

De Guzman added that aside from the big population, some towns and cities have many authorized persons outside of residence since the movement of the COVID-19 infection rate is influenced by mobility of the people.

She said the spike of the virus being felt in the province could have been made by the transmission of the more transmissible Delta variant.

Pangasinan 12 confirmed Delta variant cases have already clinically recovered. (Jerick Pasiliao)
