Comelec voter registration sites open at SM malls
SINCE the Commission on Elections and SM Supermalls partnered to launch 76 satellite COMELEC Voter Registration centers at the SM Supermalls to provide voters with more registration venues, SM’s three malls in Pangasinan have set schedules for the registration.
Registration at the SM City Rosales will be from September 17-18; SM Center Dagupan from September 27-30. SM City Urdaneta Central opened the site on September 3-4 and 10-11.
Kristine Santiago, corporate communications Officer of SM for several branches in North Luzon said the registration sites will run in SM supermalls nationwide until September 30.
Santiago added that the SM Center in Dagupan City is also a venue for the National ID registration led by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) at the second level of the mall.
“This gives the public a safer, more convenient option amidst the prevailing COVID health crisis,” Santiago said.
Meanwhile, in an interview, COMELEC Election Supervisor Marino Salas said Pangasinan has surpassed the two million voter mark with 2,052,857 registrants as of August 31.
Salas added that repatriated overseas voters who intend to vote in the Philippines in the 2022 National and Local Elections now have more time to file their application as the deadline of application for the transfer of registration record from overseas is extended until September 30.
