THE provincial government is hiring 155 additional healthcare workers to boost the province’s response efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a radio interview on Thursday, Gov. Amado Espino III said the new hires will be deployed to the 14 provincial government-run hospitals.

“The Provincial Health Office (PHO) has consolidated the request of our chiefs of hospitals for more personnel,”  Espino said.

The new positions are open only to nursing aides, midwives and other healthcare workers and are advised to send their resume to the PHO, Provincial Human Resources Office or at the governor’s office.

Meanwhile, Espino said the provincial government’s half-way house in Sta. Barbara town was recently activated as a quarantine facility.

The recent surge of COVID-19 cases for the past weeks resulted in non-Covid patients  being accommodated in makeshift tents. (Jerick Pasiliao)
