ELEVEN personnel of Dagupan City Police Station (DCPS) are among the active cases of COVID-19, as of Sept. 20, a police official confirmed.

This was confirmed by P/Lt. Col. Benjie Tremor, chief of police, adding that the infected police officers were isolated in various quarantine facilities of different local government units where they reside.

He said while health officials are continuously monitoring the status of police personnel, they being frontliners during the pandemic are very vulnerable to infection, especially those assigned in the field.

In compliance with the set protocols, Tremor said police personnel who had direct exposure to infected patients are also quarantined, based on the assessment conducted by the city health office.

He said operations at the DCPS is still manageable despite the number pulled out of duty owing to COVID-19 infection.

To date, DCPS registered 72 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began and 61 of whom have already recovered. (Jerick Pasiliao)
