THE Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dagupan failed to hold its session again last week after two councilors tested COVID-19 positive: ex-officio City Councilor Joshua Bugayong, chairman of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, and Councilor Librada Reyna-Macalanda.

City Secretary Ryan Ravanzo said Councilor Bugayong is on home quarantine for his mild symptoms of COVID-19 and is visited regularly by health care workers of the City Health Office to check on his condition.

Councilor Macalanda is confined at the Villaflor Doctors Memorial Hospital.

Ravanzo said Vice Mayor Dean Bryan Kua and 10 other councilors earlier exposed to Councilor Macalanda tested negative of COVID-19 in their RT-PCR tests but all are still observing their respective 14-day quarantine.

The Dagupan SP is supposed to hold session twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Since the start of the pandemic, the SP has been holding its session via Zoom.

Ravanzo said the session was called off after the resource speakers excused themselves last Thursday because they too were infected by the virus. (Leonardo Micua)
