Region 1 hits 1-M vaccine mark

LAST week, the Ilocos Center for Health Development (CHD 1) confirmed that one million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the Ilocos region since the vaccine rollout was started five months ago.

Specifically, 1,006,401 of eligible population were inoculated as of Aug 25 out of which   269,408 have already been fully vaccinated while 516,977 received the first dose, and 220,016 persons were inoculated with the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Dr. Rheuel Bobis, CHD 1 COVID-19 focal person, said close coordination with the national government and the local governments continues to ensure an efficient distribution and stable allocation of vaccines in the region.

He said CHD 1 is targeting to inoculate 70 percent of eligible population by yearend. (Jerick Pasiliao)
