Super Family Health Center to rise in Dagupan

By July 5, 2021Inside News

A Super Family Health Care Center, an out-patient medical facility for maternal and children care services, will be established by the Department of Health in Barangay  Bolosan, Dagupan City as part of the country’s Universal Health Care program.

John Lee Gacusan, a representative of DOH-Center for Health Development 1, told the Sangguniang Panlungsod last week that Dagupan was chosen as one of the pilot areas in the country for which P15 million was allocated in the 2021 budget under the DOH facility enhancement program.

The concept of the Super Family Health Care Center is to boost the health care services being delivered by the City Health Office (CHO) located in Barangay Herrero Perez and its satellite office in Bonuan Gueset.

As an extended CHO unit, the center will provide outpatient consultation and maternal and child health care services under the primary health care, fully equipped to deliver primary health care services, including a laboratory.

The DOH regional office is set to download the P15 million fund for the project to the city government once a memorandum of agreement is signed between DOH and the city.

Gacusan clarified that the amount will only be spent for the infrastructure component of the project and the same does not yet include the facilities as well as the needed equipment to make the center functional.

Gacusan clarified that the center will not admit in-patient although it has a treatment room where patients can be treated but cannot stay for 24 hours.

A team from the engineering and technical services of  DOH-CHD 1 will closely coordinate with Dagupan’s Planning and Development Office to ensure that the design will comply to the facility standard of DOH. (Leonardo Micua)
