TWO multi-purpose evacuation centers will be constructed in Barangay Pangapisan in Lingayen and Barangay Papagueyan in Binmaley by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) this year.

Governor Amado Espino III led the ground-breaking rites for the two projects in Lingayen and Binmaley last July 15 that will be funded P50 million each by PAGCOR.

Joining the governor during the ground-breaking ceremonies were Mayors Leopoldo Bataoil of Lingayen and Simplicio Rosario of Binmaley, PAGCOR Assistant Vice Presidents Ramon Stephen Villaflor (Community Relations), Carmelita Valdez (Communications), and Arthel Caronongan, PAGCOR chief of staff.

Villaflor said PAGCOR will continue providing support to all provinces in collaboration with the local governments that will oversee the construction of the projects.

The multi-purpose evacuation centers will provide shelter to residents affected by natural or man-made disasters rescued by local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices.

Governor Espino thanked President Rodrigo Duterte and PAGCOR for allocating the two projects in Pangasinan, and vowed the provincial government will do its best to oversee the project in accordance to the specifications and tasks delegated by the agency. (Leonardo Micua)
