Pangasinan’s S-Pass still in transition
ONLY 33 LGUs IMPLEMENTING
THE provincial government is looking forward to more towns and cities to implement the S-Pass, an online travel management system approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
According to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Rhodyn Oro, a member of the provincial IATF, confirmed 33 of the 47 local government units in Pangasinan are already using the S-Pass in the province during the regular session of the Sangguning Panlalawigan (SP) on May 3.
Oro clarified that the S-Pass is still in transition implementation stage in Pangasinan but he expressed confidence that all LGUs in the province will be implementing it in the weeks ahead.
The S-Pass aims to facilitate easier contact tracing and also to ensure that those entering Pangasinan are not carriers of the coronavirus.
Launched in Pangasinan only last week, the S-Pass is provided for in IATF Resolution 101 to serve as a simplified platform for travelers entering or exiting LGUs.
Oro also clarified that only private individuals who want to enter and exit the province need to register online for the S-Pass to facilitate their travel.
He added that all persons riding in one vehicle must present individual S-Pass, and Authorized Persons Outside of their Residence or APORs and those working in government need not secure an S-Pass anymore when they travel to Pangasinan.
According to Oro, the APORs need only to present their identification cards and their authority to travel issued by their respective offices if they are government employees. (Leonardo Micua)
