DOH CHD-I to augment COVID-19 testing laboratories
GOVERNOR Amado I. Espino III is set to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Health-Center for Health Development-I (DOH CHD-I) for the transfer or sub-allotment of funds to Pangasinan Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory to augment the operations of the COVID-19 testing laboratories.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) authorized Gov. Espino to sign the contract for the provincial government.
The resolution, authored by SP Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario, cited both the “need to maintain the operation of the Pangasinan Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory during this period of public health crisis” and the mandate of the Department of Health “to sub-allot funds in the total amount of P240,000,000 to COVID-19 partner laboratories,” out of which Pangasinan Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory is entitled to P5,000,000.
The fund to be used solely for the procurement of supplies, consumables and other COVID-19 testing-related needs for the Pangasinan Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory as defined under DOH’s Guidelines on the Sub-Allotment and Utilization of Funds to the Centers for Health Development for the Procurement of Supplies and Consumables in Response to COVID-19.
