THIRTEEN persons were rushed to the hospital, while 34 others felt minor symptoms of food poisoning during a birthday party in Barangay Bacnar, San Carlos City.

This was confirmed by the San Carlos City Health Office (CHO).

The thirteen guests at the party who suffered from stomachache, vomiting, and diarrhea were rushed to the hospital while other victims also felt similar symptoms, along with dizziness, but immediately recovered were merely placed under observation.

Charry Banlaoi, chief of the Sanitation Division, however, clarified that the conditions of the persons at the hospital have improved since.

Youngest of the victims is aged eight, while the oldest is 70 years old.

According to the celebrant, whose identity was withheld for security purposes, she ordered the seafood online.

The victims soon felt uneasy after eating a portion of the delivered seafood.

In a follow-up investigation in coordination with the Mapandan Rural Health, the San Carlos CHO determined that the online seller based in Mapandan Unit that the seafood served was not fresh.

The online seller provided assistance to the victims while both local government units are looking into the case.  (Ahikam Pasion)
