THREE radio commentators in Pangasinan are facing libel suits in complaints filed before the City Prosecutors Office in Dagupan City on March 8 by Mangaldan Mayor Marilyn Lambino.

Named respondents in the complaints were Joel Balolong of DWCM Aksyon Radyo, Tito Tamayo of DWIZ-FM and Dennis Mojares of DWJE-FM.

Mayor Lambino was accompanied by her lawyer Joseph Franiza in filing the complaints.

The complaints stemmed from the alleged malicious commentaries made by the three commentators when complaints of rape, child abuse and physical injuries were filed before the Office of the Ombudsman for Luzon on January 4, 2022 against Mayor Lambino and her husband, Secretary Raul Lambino, administrator of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority, and also presidential adviser for Northern Luzon by alleged fictitious complainants.

Secretary Lambino, in a press conference later, refuted the accusations against them and threatened to file libel suits against all media men who destroyed their reputation and resorted to character assassination against them. (Leonardo Micua)
