3 broadcasters, ex-mayor charged for libel, cyber libel
THREE broadcasters in Pangasinan, including former Mangaldan Mayor Bonafe Parayno, are facing complaints of libel and cyber libel complaints before the Prosecutors Office in Dagupan City and Pangasinan.
The cases were filed by Mangaldan Mayor Marilyn Lambino on March 21 against Orlando “Orly” Navarro and Raul “Insyong” Tamayo, both of DWIZ-FM; and Dante Cera of DWCM/Alyson Radyo.
The charges were filed in connection with the alleged malicious commentaries made by the three broadcasters against Mayor Lambino and her husband Secretary Raul Lambino, presidential advisers for Northern Luzon and administrator of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority,
The three were the second batch of broadcasters whom the Lambino couple filed libel complaints. Charged initially were Joel Balolong of DWC/Aksyon Radyo, Tito Tamayo of DWIZ-FM, and Dennis Mojave’s of DWJE-FM.
Parayno and Jaime Aquino, a former newsman, were also slapped with separate complaints for libel and cyber libel before the provincial Prosecutors Office in connection with their alleged participation in the preparation of an alleged fabricated complaint before the Ombudsman against the mayor and her husband.
