Two more suspects in slay try nabbed

TWO more accused in the ambush of former governor Amado Espino Jr., were arrested at the vicinity of Petron Gas Station, NLEX Exit, Old Iba Road, Meycauayan, Bulacan on Jan. 19.

Nabbed were Cesar Agbayani, 67 and Ernesto Agbayani, 61, both residents of Rizal St., Dagupan City.

Joint police operatives implemented warrants of arrest for the crime of attempted murder, frustrated murder and murder against the suspects all issued by the Presiding Judge, Branch 56, of the First Judicial Region, San Carlos City, Pangasinan, all dated Feb. 15, 2021.

Ernesto Agbayani is included in the Department of Interior and Local Government Memorandum Circular No. 2021-122 with P355,000 cash reward.

Both are listed as Most Wanted Persons in Regional Level and included in Coplan “Universe” of Pangasinan Provincial Police Office for their alleged involvement in the shooting of former governor Espino and his security escorts.

It will be recalled that Espino and his convoy were in Barangay Magtaking, San Carlos City on Sept. 11, 2019 that left him wounded and his two aides, Agapito Cuison and Police Staff Sergeant Richard Esguerra, driver and bodyguard respectively, dead. (Eva Visperas)
