Travelers from NCR+ barred to enter Pangasinan borders
THE provincial government has ordered to close its borders to travelers from the National Capital Region (NCR), and from provinces of Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite and Rizal temporarily since the start of the Holy Week.
This new executive order (No. 0027-A) was issued by Gov. Amado Espino III on March 26 which ordered the exclusion of travelers from the NCR Plus bubble which has been placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Until further notice, only travelers from other provinces in Region 1, including Baguio City, are allowed to enter and exit Pangasinan without being required to present travel permits and medical certificates.
Executive Order No. 0027-A supplemented Gov. Espino’s earlier Executive Order No. 0027 issued on March 22 that directed strict implementation of health protocols during the observance of the Lenten Season in a move to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 cases.
Policemen manning various border control points have been ordered by P/Colonel Ronald Gayo, police provincial director, to strictly implement EO No. 0027-A that effectively closed the borders of Pangasinan from those coming from the south.
The supplementary executive order also provides that persons in Pangasinan will not be allowed to travel to the NCR Plus bubble during the effectivity of the regulation under IATF-EID Resolution No. 104.
For travels to and from areas other than the above-mentioned place/s, the guidelines under Executive Order No. 0018-2021, as well as Provincial Ordinance No. 261-2021, and E.O. No. 0027-2021 will be enforced. Traveler must present proof of identity, documents stating work place address, or any proof of essential travel in border checkpoints.
However, essential travel, including limited to travel by frontline services, government personnel, emergency and humanitarian cases, and movement of cargo shall remain unhampered. (Leonardo Micua)
