Sta. Barbara PNP neutralize three armed suspects

THREE suspects on board two motorcycles died in an armed encounter with policemen manning a checkpoint in Barangay Patayak, Sta. Barbara at about 9:45 p. m, on March 28.

The suspects, who have been under surveillance by the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PUI) for sometime, opened fire on policemen manning the checkpoint instead of stopping and a firefight ensured.

The neutralized suspects, Jimuel Idos Lomibao, alias Lomboy, 29, a market guard of Poblacion, Sta. Barbara, Mark Lendle Lomibao Genoese, 38, an employee of the Department of Public Works and Highway, of Ungson Street in Poblacion, Sta. Barbara; and Jesus Johnrey Carrera Bustillos, alias Ampot, 24, helper, of San Jose Street in Barangay Puelay, Villasis were identified by their relatives at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) in San Carlos City, where they were rushed after the shooting.

A fourth companion who  managed to escape was identified only by his alias, “Bisugo” of Zone 4, Poblacion, Villasis town.

The report of the police over the incident did not identify what crime or crimes the suspects were involved in nor the reason why they were under surveillance by the PIU. (Leonardo Micua)
