Teen returns to P’sinan to give birth, tests positive for COVID-19
THE municipality of Alcala recorded another COVID-19 case when a 19-year-old girl tested positive just before she delivered her baby.
The patient, from Barangay San Pedro Apartado, was previously listed as a Patient Under Investigation (PUI) having traveled from Manila in order to give birth in the town.
When she was confined at the Region 1 Medical Center to prepare for her labour, she was tested as part of hospital protocol and was confirmed to be positive with COVID-19.
She is one of the two active COVID-19 cases in the town as one patient from Barangay San Pedro recovered.
Meanwhile, a 65-year-old male from Barangay Bantog, Asingan was the town’s latest COVID-19 fatality.
He has a travel history in California, USA, but died last November 17. He was immediately cremated.
His area was placed under granular lockdown. Mayor Carlos Lopez also ordered an immediate disinfection of the area and contact tracing. (Ahikam Pasion)
