NEW CASES: 42

SISON town is considered today as the epicenter of COVID-19 contagion after it registered 51 active cases, making it on top of the watch list of the Provincial Health Office as of November 12, replacing Dagupan City.

This after 27 more positive cases, all from a cement factory in Barangay Labayug, and four other residents were added to the 19 cases in the town, 11 of whom were also workers at the cement plant.

All told, the cement plant accounted for 38 active COVID-19 cases; 30 others are residents of Barangay Labayug and other barangays of Sison.

Meanwhile, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Dagupan is down to 48, from 63 cases the previous week with the recovery of 16 patients and the death of one 35-year-old woman patient last November 6.

San Fabian is third in the watch list with 17 active cases, followed by Lingayen with 16 patients.

Also in the watch list of the PHO are: Calasiao (10 cases), Urdaneta (10), Basista (9), Aguilar (8), Malasiqui (7), Mangaldan (7), Villasis (7), Alaminos City (6), Rosales (6), San Carlos City (5) and Tayug (5).

Out of 44 towns and cities in Pangasinan, 39 towns are infected.

There are still nine towns without any COVID-10 cases as of November 12: Agno, Anda, Bani, Burgos, Infanta, Labrador, San Manuel, San Quintin and Sto. Tomas. (Leonardo Micua)
