Dagupan OKs P1.09-B annual budget for 2020
SPECIAL SESSION ON A SATURDAY
IN a special session called by Dagupan City Mayor Brian Lim on December 23, the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed Draft Ordinance No. 0-734 approving the annual budget of the Dagupan City government for Calendar Year 2020 in the amount of P1,090,000,000.
Sponsored by Minority Floor Leader, Councilor Librada Reyna-Macalanda, the annual budget is P80 million higher than the past annual budget of P1.01 billion of the past city government under Mayor Belen Fernandez.
The SP passed the measure approving the budget after passing the P1,709,652,000 budget for the Annual Investment Program (AIP) of the city and its accompanying integral plans in 2020 previously endorsed by the City Development Council.
The AIP is broken down into four sectors: the General Public Services Sector, P826,284,276.14; Social Services Sector, P469,997,709/05; Economic Services Sector, P253,222,646.68; and Other Services Sector, P160,147,358.13.
Among the salient features of the AIP include: 20% Development4 Fund, P122,000,000; 5% City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan, P54,500,000; Local Climate Change Action Plan, P108,921,000; Gender and Development Plan, P56,345,800; Combat AIDS Action Plan, P973,000; Anti-Drug Abuse Council Plan, P5,135,000; Local Anti-Criminality Action Plan, P6,130,000; Senior Citizens Plan, P15,214,000; Plan for Persons with Disability, P3,130,000; Local Development and Investment Plan for Children, P280,809,395; Culture and Arts Program, P12,540,000; and Local Nutrition Action Plan, P5,47,7000.
Funds for the implementation of the AIP will be sourced from the city government, the national government, and other external sources.
