SAN Miguel Brewery Inc. (SMB) expects to operates its first brewery in Pangasinan in two years after the ceremonial groundbreaking rites held in Barangays Bolasi and Mabilao in  San Fabian.

He said management believes that putting up a brewery strategically located in Pangasinan is instrumental in the attainment of their vision “as we lead the growth of the beverage industry”.

Huang added that the move to put up a new brewery signifies that SMB believe that as its business grows, “so is our contribution to countryside development”.

“Hopefully, this new brewery goes a long way in improving the local economy and providing jobs to many of our countrymen,” he added.

Meanwhile, San Fabian Mayor Constante Agbayani lauded the SMB for putting its investments here through its brewery construction.

“San Fabian is like a sleeping giant. This is a dream come true. With this project, we hope it will lead our town to achieve its unprecedented economic growth,” Constante said.

He added that the employment opportunities that will be generated through this project will be a big boost for the town folks.

Huang said SMB impresses upon its employees and business partners the importance of making a difference and contributing to the improvement of lives in the communities where it operates.

The completion of the new  brewery in less than two years will allow SMB to move its their products to their Northern Luzon customers at a more efficient pace.

The San Fabian Brewery will have a full capacity of two million hectoliters. The last brewery SMB built was the Davao Brewery in 1995.

In 2017, Ang announced that the company will invest in more facilities to grow its core business: new brewery in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental and convert its existing Santa Rosa, Laguna bottling facility into a full-fledged brewery.

The company expects to spend at least $150 million for its  marketing strategy.

Ang added that North Luzon has always had great growth potential “and we’re proud to have established a presence here early on”. (PhilStar Wire Service)
