Pangasinan’s ‘most wanted’ arrested in North Cotabato
LINGAYEN—The most wanted person in
Pangasinan (provincial level) was arrested by agents of the Criminal
Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Lingayen Police in North Cotabato on December 1.
Arrested was Rony Agsayang Estrada, alias ‘Elong’, a native of
Barangay Tonton, Lingayen, the object of ‘Manhunt Charlie’.
The suspect was identified as leader of the Estrada criminal group believed
to be engaged in gun-for-hire, robbery, holdup and other criminal
activities that operated in a number of towns in Pangaainan.
Estrada had a standing warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Regional
Trial Court (RTC) in Lingayen implemented by CIDG Pangasinan, and Lingayen Police
with the help of CIDG Zamboanga del Sur, Lingayen Police Station,
Police Regional Office 1 and Midsayap, North Cotabato Police Station.
The Estrada group is also suspected to be behind several unsolved killings in
the province in the past.
Estrada’s co-accused in the murder case: Noel Penaflor, Rammie Ferrer and Henry
Miller, are still at large. No bail was recommended for all the accused.
Estrada remains under the custody of the CIDG Zamboanga del Sur. (Leonardo
