Poll candidates: File expense reports or else…

THE provincial election supervisor of Pangasinan has reminded winners and losers in the last barangay and sangguniang kabataan elections to file their respective statement of contribution and expenditures (SOCE).

Marino Salas said the candidates have until June 13 to file their SOCEs at the Comelec office where they also filed their certificates of candidacy (COC). The law also applies to those who were disqualified, he said.

He said those who fail to file SOCEs will be “disqualified perpetually” from holding public office.

“Winners cannot assume office if they did not file their SOCE. They will also be charged,” he said.

The law requires those who had filed their candidacy to file their SOCE whose prescribed forms are downloadable at website www.comelec.gov.ph.

This is to be submitted under oath with documentary stamps, similar to their COC documents.

In Pangasinan, he said there are some individuals who are now perpetually disqualified for non-submission of SOCEs. However, Salas did not identify them. (Eva Visperas)
