Dog Fun Walk set March 16

LINGAYEN- – To observe the this year’s Rabies Awareness Month, the Provincial Veterinary Office invites all dog owners to bring their pets to the Capitol Compound on March 16 and join the Dog Fun Walk.

Dr. Eric Jose C. Perez, Provincial Veterinarian, said the activity, which is expected to register around 120 participants, aims to promote responsible pet ownership among Pangasinenses.

Anchoring on the theme, “End Rabies, Now Na,” anti-rabies vaccination will be given free and lectures will be undertaken by field personnel in remote areas to further educate pet owners in the province.

The Dog Fun Walk assembly will be in front of the Environment and Natural Resources Office and will start at 7:30 a.m.. Participants will then walk up to the finish line at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center. Pet owners will not be allowed to carry/lift their dogs during the fun walk.

To join, all participating pets must be vaccinated and fit to join the fun walk. There will be four stations where participants will get freebies upon arrival at the station.

Prizes will be given to the 1) first to complete and arrive at the finish line, 2) Best Dressed Pet, 3) Longest Bonding Time with pet, 4) Oldest Pet, 5) Youngest Pet, 6) Best Breed. Registration is free. (RRB_PIO)
