Cojuangco cites teamwork as key to progress

“LIFE is like sports. If we are good at teamwork, our society will surely progress.”

Former Fifth District Rep. Mark Cojuangco emphasized this during the opening ceremonies of the Mayor’s Cup in Asingan on November 29 at the town sports center.

Cojuangco, gubernatorial candidate in next year’s elections, told participants of at least 32 competing teams from various sectors of the town, that basketball develops skills of players in dealing with other people.

“These skills are vital in fostering friendship, cooperation, competition, and in winning, the value of giving,” Cojuangco said.

He shared his thoughts about his vision to serve Pangasinan even as he vowed to be a hands-on governor by delivering personally the services needed by the people.

Cojuangco lauded Asingan Mayor Heidee Chua who initiated the basketball cup and her partners in public service in the town led by Vice Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr.

Abono party-list Rep Conrado Estrella III, a strong ally of Cojuangco, as well as their candidates for board members in sixth district, namely former Board Member Salvador “Dong” Perez of Pangasinan Councilors’ League and former Balungao Mayor Lito Peralta, were also present during the tournament opening rites.

Cojuangco and Estrella’s group made the event happier and merrier by supporting the competing teams.

Estrella said in his speech told the crowd about his closeness with Cojuangco and how he has known his generosity and dedication in serving the people.

“He is the kind of leader who really serves, the one who will bring the government closer to the people of Pangasinan,” Estrella added.

Chua urged her town folks to maintain their good relationships and to continue to be nice to each other, and to work together as a team.
