LINGAYEN– The administrative case for grave misconduct and grave abuse of authority against Bani Councilor Richard Camba was dismissed following an affidavit of desistance from the complainant.

“We received today an Affidavit of Desistance from the complainant… stating she is no longer interested in prosecuting the complaint against Coun. Camba,” said Board Member Alfonso Bince Jr., chairman of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Good Government.

He said the Committee admitted the affidavit and ordered the dismissal of the case.

The dismissal is with prejudice which means that it cannot be revived, Bince added.

Bince recalled that last year, Riezl Marie Orilla submitted a complaint claiming that “the Councilor poked a gun at her and threatened to harm her unless she presents the husband who is suspected a drug addict.”

However, last Feb. 11 in Bani, Orilla subscribed and sworn before Prosecutor Magin NiƱo Orlino her affidavit of desistance.

She stated in her affidavit, “I came to realize that the incident was just a result of misunderstanding between me and respondent, Bani Councilor Richard Camba, and perhaps mis-appreciation of facts on my part.” (Johanne R. Macob)
