LINGAYEN– the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) is set to launch an awareness campaign in tandem with the Liga ng mga Barangay (LB) on the ill effects of illegal drug use among the youths in the villages.

LB provincial president and Board Member Amado Espino III, said the campaign will focus on the ‘curiosity’ of the youths that usually leads to trying illegal drugs.

The program will include steps for village chieftains and officials to follow in dealing with illegal drug users.

“It’s not an overnight cure… but there must be a concerted effort in the province,” Espino said.

Meanwhile, in response to the call of Gov. Amado Espino Jr. to local governments to allocate funds for their anti-illegal drug campaign, Board Member Alfonso Bince Jr. said the provincial board is already verifying if the towns have begun to comply. (Johanne Macob)
