PDEA honors Mayor Belen, P/Supt. Abrahano

SAN FERNANDO CITY –The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Ilocos Region awarded plaques of recognition to Dagupan City Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and City Chief of Police Superintendent Christopher Abrahano for their “exceptional contributions leading to the outstanding accomplishments of PDEA RO1” in drug enforcement operations during simple rites on Aug. 5 marking PDEA’s 12th Anniversary.

PDEA Region 1 Chief Adrian Alvariño presented the plaques for their passion and dedication “in the pursuit of what is morally right that have led to safer communities.” Both Mayor Fernandez and Supt. Abrahano are in the forefront in the fight against drug abuse and illegal drugs aimed at making a drug-free Dagupan.

Fernandez was twice national awardee of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) that took note of her uncompromising fight against illegal drugs in her city, first when she was still a vice mayor and second when she was already mayor of Dagupan.

Abrahano was also one- time national DDB awardee and received his award when Mayor Fernandez received her second DDB national award. (CIO/Joseph C. Bacani)
