90-year old retired teacher stabbed

MALASIQUI—A 90-year old retired teacher was stabbed and left for dead inside her house in Barangay Umando here Tuesday.

The fatality was identified as Felipa Monto, who could possibly have been a victim of robbery, according to Superintendent Armando Muena, town police chief here.

The police have yet to identify a suspect.

Monto’s body was discovered by her daughter Myrna and her husband around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after they came home from work.

Monto was believed to have been stabbed dead between 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. that day.

The kitchen knife used by the unidentified suspect was still in the old woman’s stomach when her daughter found her body.—Tita Roces
