Search for outstanding Pangasinenses begins

LINGAYEN–Nominations for the 2014 ASNA Awards are now being accepted by the provincial government and the deadline of submissions is February 21, 2014.

Tourism Operations Division (TOD) Chief Ma. Louisa Elduayan announced that any individual or group can nominate one or more individuals who have excelled in the fields of government service, community service, arts and culture, medicine, agriculture and aquaculture, mass communications, business and entrepreneurship, law, education, science and technology, and sports.

The TOD, secretariat for the ASNA Awards, issues the official nomination forms and processes submitted nominations.

A Search and Awards Committee composed of seven individuals representing various sectors is organized for the selection process.

Launched during the 430th Pangasinan Foundation Anniversary on April 5, 2010, the ASNA Awards is given to outstanding Pangasinenses who have excelled in the various fields.

Past ASNA awardees include President Fidel Ramos, F. Sionil Jose, Santiago Villafania, Rina Jimenez-David, Dr. Westly Rosario, Dr. Francisco Duque III, P/Supt. Eric Noble, Reynaldo Villar, Rodolfo Cardozo, and Menardo Jimenez (2010); Jose de Venecia, Salvador Bernal, Marcelo Castillan Jr., Alma Quintans-Kern, Bb, Joyce Bernal, Lt. Gen. Arturo Ortiz, and Sen. Leticia Ramos-Shahani (2011); Dr. Hilarion Henares Jr., Atty. Gabriel Singson, The PUNCH editor/publisher Ermin Garcia Jr., Jose Datuin, and Amadeo Perez Jr. (2012); and Dr. Florangel Braid, Sr. Mary John Mananzan, OSB., Romeo Manquil, Dr. Josephine Arquillano, and Dr./B. Gen. Antonio Tamayo (2013).
