Festivals of the North returns this year
THE “Festivals of the North” will return as one of the highlights of the 2014 Dagupan Bangus Festival
Mayor Belen Fernandez told the KBP forum Thursday afternoon that the “Festivals of the North” was a proven a top attraction in Bangus Festivals in previous years but was removed by the past administration in 2010.
The “Festivals of the North”, initiated by Fernandez when she was still vice mayor, brings together the different festivals in Regions 1, II, the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and Region III through a street dancing competition participated in by the champion teams in the different provinces in these regions.
Fernandez also said that she will bring back the “Kalutan ed Dalan”, the culminating event in the annual festival, along the De Venecia Expressway Extension, which is an open space compared to the crowded A.B. Fernandez Avenue in the downtown area.—LVM
