POGO GRANDE NEW YEAR TRADITION

3- POGO GRANDE NEW YEAR

POGO GRANDE NEW YEAR TRADITION—Some 100,000 pieces of various firecrackers stretching about a kilometer are lined up in Barangay Pogo Grande, Dagupan City, ready for a domino-effect lighting during the community’s annual high noon revelry on the first day of the year. Residents and visitors stand at a safe distance from the display as they cover their ears and noses against the noise and the smoke. However, three people sustained minor injuries, the first time in the 15 year tradition that anyone was hurt. (Punchphoto by Willie Lomibao)
